XING (2017)
- Project Abstract -
This project presents an alternate identity to the normative East Asian female narrative through a photo book and a digital platform. Focussing on the photographic medium, it navigates the nuances and new notions of East Asian women through the lens of an international artist collective. Granting agency to its women, the project depicts against a hegemonic and patriarchal society from the stories of its female subjects. Whilst educating its audience and advocating positive change through visual aid in stereotypes faced by this group, the campaign seeks to foster belonging and empowerment amongst East Asian women.
